Casual gaming fun and interesting talks to see in Brighton

Coming up

TONIGHT: Board Games Night

When: 7pm on Friday 22nd September
Where: The Engine Room (biggest room)
Host: Chris

Come and try new games and old favourites with new friends at Chris’s monthly board games night…

From 7pm onwards, come and join us for games big and small, as we try to make this the biggest board game evening of the year so far.

We have many games and are always up for learning more, so feel free to bring along your latest overpriced purchase and a bottle of booze or two ;-)

Join Chris’s board games Facebook group here.

Wednesday: Show and Tell

When: 12:30–1:30pm on Wednesday 27th September
Where: The Mess (kitchen)
Hosts: Caroline and Tom

Come and see a bundle of tiny talks during lunchtime. Come and tell everyone what you’ve been doing recently! There’s always something interesting to find out about your fellow Skiffmates. You can read about previous talks in June, May, April and March.

Show and Tell is fantastic! If you can make it in on Wednesday you won’t regret it.

Local events

Some local events that might be of interest…

Azure Cost Management + Azure Private Link Deep Dive — Tues 26th — 6:30–8:30pm — Runway East Brighton & Remote
The Sussex Azure User Group meet up has group members Steve Goodman and Jonathan D’Aloia giving two very different talks, one on networking the other on cost management.
(Co-run by Jack, who keeps our wifi working)

The Farm freelancers meet up — Weds 27th — 8–11pm — Battle of Trafalgar pub
A networking group for web designers, developers and people with related digital skills who live in Brighton and the surrounding areas.
(Run by Paul, long time Skiff member)

Brighton Indiependent Meetup — Thurs 28th — 6–9pm — BrewDog pub
Indiependent Meetups are for people who are seeking life, career, money and business on their own indie-pendent terms. This could mean you are a freelancer, creator, founder, investor, writer, activist, technologist or something else along those lines. Often it means we’re doing a mixture, or have ambitions to get out of our day job.
(Run by Rosie Sherry, friend of The Skiff that many of you might know from Ministry of Testing.)

FuseBox Show & Tell — Thurs 28th — 6–9pm — The FuseBox
Digital innovators demo their work in progress. It’s a brilliant opportunity to witness how creatives are using new technologies, get inspired, chat with them and maybe even help them progress.
(Run by Wired Sussex, co-owners of The Skiff)

Introducing Green Software — Thurs 28th — 6:30–8pm — WRAP
We’re building a community of software devs and techy people in Brighton who care about the environment, and the impact they have on it. If you want to meet like minded people, learn about the effect software has on the environment and find out how to take action, then come along.
(Co-run by Skiff member Oli)
